Our Subteams.
Nine specialized groups working together to build a humanoid from scratch. Each subteam tackles a critical piece of the puzzle.
Hands & Manipulation
Teaching robots to grasp, feel, and manipulate objects like we do, from picking up a pen to turning a doorknob. We're building fingers that can sense pressure and hands that can handle the unexpected.
Legs & Locomotion
Making bipedal walking look easy (it's not). We work on everything from stable walking on flat ground to dynamic running and navigating stairs, curbs, and uneven terrain without face planting.
Torso & Arms
Designing the upper body structure and arms that connect it all together. We balance weight distribution, enable natural reaching motions, and make sure our robot doesn't tip over when waving hello.
Perception & Vision
Giving our humanoid eyes and spatial awareness. We integrate cameras, depth sensors, and algorithms so the robot can see obstacles, recognize objects, and understand the 3D world around it.
Controls & Planning
The brain behind the motion. We write the software that decides how to move, when to move, and how to coordinate dozens of motors in real time to execute smooth, purposeful actions.
Compute & Power
Keeping the lights on, literally. We design the electrical systems, manage power distribution, and build the embedded computing that runs everything while keeping battery life realistic.
Simulation & Testing
Breaking things virtually before we break them in real life. We build digital twins of our robot, run thousands of test scenarios, and validate designs in physics simulations.
Manufacturing & Integration
Turning CAD models into real parts and making sure everything actually fits together. We machine components, 3D print prototypes, and assemble the physical robot piece by piece.
Operations
Keeping the team running smoothly. We handle recruiting, organize events, manage budgets, coordinate sponsors, run social media, and make sure everyone has what they need to build.
