What We

DO.

We're building a humanoid robot from the ground up, designed to move, think, and interact like we do.

Humanoids have the potential to transform industries at every scale, and we're seizing the opportunity to lead the future. Our team of UW-Madison students is working to create a humanoid that can walk on two legs, manipulate objects with dexterous hands, perceive its environment, and make real-time decisions.

This is hands-on, real-world engineering at its most ambitious. We're a team across all disciplines, and we're looking to push the boundaries in robotics and AI.

Our Timeline.

We've mapped out our first year month by month. Here's our roadmap from concept to autonomous deployment.

Months 1-4

Oct 2025 - Jan 2026: Foundation & Learning Systems

  • Robot learning rig setup to start implementing VLA models for pick and place
  • Design and prototype custom actuators for humanoid joints
  • 6 degrees of freedom humanoid arm prototyped and tested
  • Initial perception and control infrastructure established
Months 5-8

Feb 2026 - May 2026: Advanced Manipulation

  • Dexterous robotic hands with 16+ degrees of freedom prototyped
  • Integration testing with 6-DOF arms and dexterous hands
  • Vision-language-action model training on manipulation tasks
  • Custom actuator manufacturing and testing pipeline
Months 9-12

Jun 2026 - Sep 2026: Mobile Platform & Autonomy

  • Wheeled robot with dual SO-100 arms deployed
  • Autonomous navigation to traverse areas and complete tasks
  • Demonstration of pick and place, food delivery, laundry folding
  • Automatic space cleanup and household task execution
  • Year 2 bipedal humanoid planning and design kickoff

Day One: We're Just Getting Started

Founded in October 2025 as Wisconsin's first humanoid robotics team. We're a week in, building from zero, and we've never been more excited. This is the beginning.

The Vision: Build a Humanoid from Scratch

No kits. No shortcuts. We're designing and building every component ourselves—from the mechanical structure to the control systems to the perception stack. It's ambitious, and that's exactly why we're doing it.

The Team: 9 Subteams, One Goal

We've structured ourselves around nine specialized subteams covering every aspect of humanoid development. Each group tackles their piece of the puzzle, and together we're building something incredible.

We've mapped out a 12-month roadmap. Months 1-4: learning systems and actuators. Months 5-8: advanced manipulation. Months 9-12: autonomous mobile platform demonstration. The clock is ticking, and we're moving fast.
